SBS 2008 - Tips & Tricks Learned Along the Way by Rick Joyce
By
the time this meeting convenes, Small Business Server 2008 will have been
officially on the street for almost 10 months. Rick will outline the process for
migrating to SBS 2008 from SBS 2003, clarifying some steps and pointing out
pitfalls. For example, did you know that if you elect to install Microsoft
Forefront for Exchange during the SBS 2008 installation, it will be enabled when
you move your mailboxes and may strip off many of your saved attachments and
dump them in the quarantine folder? Rick will also discuss operational problems
that have emerged since the product shipped and how to fix them. You can enhance
the benefits you will derive from this presentation if you download and peruse
the SBS 2008 Installation Guide (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=123543)
and the recently
updated SBS2003 to SBS 2008 Migration Guide
(http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=123547).
Better yet, install SBS 2008 yourself and
get some hands on experience, or perform a test migration. If you have a
particular topic you would like Rick to discuss, or if you have any SBS 2008
experiences which will help others to avoid problems, please contact Rick
(rjoyce@jnetservices.com)
and provide details to incorporate into the presentation.
